Skincare Review: e.l.f. Blemish Control Face Primer

I am NOT being compensated in any way for this review – i bought this product full price with my own money from elfcosmetics.com

I’ve had the e.l.f. Blemish Control Face Primer laying around for a while. Honestly, I paid no mind to. But girls, you know what it’s like to have your face breakout during that time of the month right? Well, I always get spots on my chin. I figured, hey, I might as well see if it works instead of let it waste away!

I have to say… it works AMAZING. I am so happy I decided to actually use it.

I started using it a few weeks ago when I had about three spots on my chin. I washed my face and put it on. When I woke up the next morning they were still there, but much less noticeable. They were gone in about three days. I put it on everyday and everynight. Not only does make my spots go away fast, it also softens my skin. I woke up this morning and I looked in the mirror and i was literally like “wow” my face was so bright and clear!

Back of the bottle of e.l.f. Blemish Control Primer

Here’s the PROS:

  • Clears up spots within a few days
  • Is not greasy
  • Doesn’t really have a smell (pro to me)
  • Has a nice consistency

Here’s the CONS:

  • Bottle is too small! It’s a stretch to make it last a month if you are using twice a day like me.
  • $6 for a really small bottle

This is just my opinion. Always proceed with caution, whether or not you have sensitive skin. Here is the link to the product: Blemish Primer.

My First Influenster VoxBox: Sally Hansen #AirBrushPerfect Review!

Disclosure: I received this VoxBox from Influenster for free. I received this product from Sally Hansen for free in exchange for an honest review.

It took about 3 months for me to receive a VoxBox! I did snaps, made lists, referred people, wrote reviews.. what was I doing wrong? Nothing. One instagram user suggested that maybe it was my location-living in the middle of nowhere will do that to ya!

Now, on to the good stuff! This review is long overdue because I’ve been busy with my first semester of college but if you’re following me on instagram, you already knew I got my first VoxBox!

Trying to tan as a fair skinned girl can be hard, that’s why I was so excited when my Sally Hansen Airbrush Legs!

Here is a picture of my right leg with Airbrush Legs and my left leg without:

First Voxbox Influenster Sally Hansen
VoxBox Sally Hansen Airbrush Legs

There were both pros and cons of this product.

Pros:

  • The product was consistent
  • The product was not too dark for my skin color (fair/light). I didn’t look orange lol!
  • It was easy to apply (just rub it on)
  • This small bottle covered both my legs (front and back plus feet) with some left over
  • Won’t leave you looking orange
  • Available at local retailers near you, like walmart-$9.97
  • Inexpensive as opposed to getting a spray tan (imagine how long the bottle will last if the little one has enough for 2!)

While I did like this product, I won’t be buying it myself. Here’s why:

Cons:

  • Stain easily (sheets, towels, clothes)
  • It was easy to apply but it was not easy to cover all of my legs by myself. It actually takes a lot more effort than I am personally willing to put in.

Overall, this is a great product. If you like to tan, can’t tan (like me) or get regular spray tans, this could be an affordable, satisfying option for you.

Beauty Review: goPURE Naturals Argan Oil

FTC Disclosure: I received this product in exchange for a honest, unbiased review. All opinions are my own. This post contains an affiliate link.

When I came across the opportunity to review goPURE Naturals Argan Oil, I was excited.

  • I had not previously used Argan Oil
  • I had heard about the many benefits
  • I had never used a goPURE Naturals product before but I am always on the lookout for brands that don’t test on animals!

Here are some pictures of my initial opening of the goPURE Argan oil:

What did I use it for?

  • I used the goPURE Naturals Argan Oil to condition my hair. My hair texture is curly/wavy and my color is Strawberry Blonde. It left my hair feeling softer than most conditioners I have used. I have medium length, thick hair so I used about 5 drops. The bottle recommends 2-3 but I would say more if you have exceptionally long or thick hair. They also recommend leaving it in for 30 minutes. I decided to leave it in for about 15 minutes. Below are some pictures before my hair dried and after (1 day later, not brushed and without other products).
  • I also used it on my face as a moisturizer. Apply makeup after the Argan Oil absorbs! Allow it to absorb for 3 minutes, sometimes 5 depending on the amount you apply. Then apply your makeup. Yay! Now you have glowing skin 🙂

My hair before (drying) after I washed with Argan Oil.
http://www.gopurenaturals.com
My hair dried after using goPURE 100% Naturals Argan Oil.

What was the overall result of using the goPURE Naturals 100% Argan Oil on my hair?

  • My hair was softer than most conditioners allow
  • My hair smelled good
  • My hair was 50 times less frizzier than before. My hair is usually very frizzy due to having curly hair and living in the south where temperatures are often humid.

What were the pros of using the goPURE Naturals Argan Oil?

  • Leaves hair soft
  • De-frizzes hair
  • Has a nice yet subtle smell
  • NOT tested on animal (yay!)
  • It’s an extremely versatile product
  • It has no additives. It is truly 100% Argan Oil from the Kingdom of Morocco

What were the cons of using the goPURE Naturals Argan Oil?

  • I did not experience any cons. If you have never used oil as a moisturizer or conditioner, I recommend starting with a small amount. Any oil can leave your hair, face or elsewhere looking and feeling oily when you use too much. Experiment and figure out what amount works best for you!

What are some different uses for goPURE Naturals Argan Oil?

  • Hair conditioner for softer and healthier hair
  • Facial moisturizer for a natural glow and healthier skin
  • Skin moisturizer to combat dry skin
  • Can help reduce inflammation from acne, rashes and bug bites
  • It can help improve the elasticity of skin, lessening the effect of stretch marks
  • Can soothe and heal razor bumps and razor burns
  • Can protect hair against the heat of hair dryers, curling wands and other heat stylers
  • Can heal cracked lips and prevent chapped lips in the wintertime
  • Moisturize cuticles and nails
  • Can be used as a exfoliating scrub (mix with vanilla extract and brown sugar)

Why buy goPURE Naturals Argan Oil over another brand?

  • it’s 100% Argan oil (contains no additives, only Argan oil)
  • it’s not tested on animals
  • it’s affordable. Some companies charge $40-$50 for Argan Oil! I promise this is just as good.

How much does goPURE Naturals Argan Oil cost?

You can buy it from Amazon or the goPure Naturals website.

  • goPURE Naturals $15.95 As soon as you head to their site, you can sign up for their free newsletter and receive a $10 coupon! Then, you can buy it for $5.95 on their website. That’s a great deal.
  • Amazon $14.95 You can also score it on Amazon for $14.95, free shipping with Prime!

The best way to achieve a natural look? Go bare! The 2nd best way get a natural look? Use these 3 products:

1. Julep Lip Gloss in “Graceful”

A Freckled Mess
Julep Lip Gloss in “Graceful”

I lightly covered my lips with these gloss. It smells AMAZING: like cotton candy. I recommend putting chap-stick or lip balm on,  then layering it with Julep “Graceful” gloss. I wouldn’t say it dries out your lips but it’s not moisturizing.

New to Julep? Click here to get your first Maven box free. It comes with this gloss! You can cancel after you get it if you don’t want to be a Maven and you WILL NOT be charged. Only pay 2.99 for shipping! You’ll get 3 nail polishes and this gloss for free (or $2.99 if you count shipping).

3.  Maybelline Dream Fresh BB Cream

A Freckled Mess
Maybelline Dream Fresh BB Cream

A Freckled Mess

I love this BB cream because it leaves my skin soft, doesn’t cover my freckles but hides my blemishes and protects me with SPF 30. I don’t have time to apply sunscreen every morning. The BB cream does it for me. Having fair skin and freckles makes me prone to more freckles, extra prone to sunburns and skin cancer.

You can purchase this at any mass retailer, drugstore or online. It’s around $7.

BB Cream:

Maybelline Dream Fresh 8-in-1 BB w/ SPF 30-$6.29

MakeUp Remover:

Today I bought Pond’s Cold Cream Cleanser because my BFF Taylor suggested it. I bought it from Target. It only takes a very small amount. It smells great but does not have an overpowering scent.
